Yoga has been a central part of my life for over three decades, beginning with my first class at 17. Through all the ups and downs of life, yoga practice has provided me with stability, discipline, strength and focus.
My life journey took a significant turn at 27 when I travelled to India and met my main teacher, Rolf Naujokat. This encounter deepened my commitment to the practice of ashtanga yoga, leading me to fully embrace it as both a practice and a way of life. Today it continues to be my pillar as I move through different stages of life.
Since 2011, I’ve been fortunate to work with Purple Valley Yoga Center in Goa, India, where I have contributed to creating a space for ashtanga teachers to share their wisdom with yoga practitioners. You can read more about Purple Valley here.
Yoga, for me, is more than just physical exercise; it’s about creating goodness in the world.
I believe that every positive action can make a difference, even if it helps just one person. My approach to yoga emphasises self-respect, self-love, and understanding others, even in the face of differences. True goodness and personal growth start from within, through self-knowledge and an ongoing process of self-reflection. How can we become better human beings?
I see yoga as a personal inward journey, where taking care of the body through movement, breathing, mindfulness, meditation and proper nutrition are essential acts of self-care and self-love. This philosophy is the foundation of my teaching, where I wish to guide others to find balance and self-love in their lives.
As I’ve grown older, I’ve recognised the importance of incorporating other movement disciplines, such as strength, core, and mobility training, into my yoga practice.
These elements enhance joint mobility, flexibility, and overall strength, supporting long-term health and well-being. My goal is to help you discover the transformative power of yoga so you can achieve both physical and mental well-being. I invite you to join me in practice and explore how yoga can make a positive impact on your life. You will find my current yoga schedule for Wirkswoth here and for my Mysore Mornings in Belper here.
I'm here to support you on your journey to better health and wellness.
